What a Factory Audit Actually Checks

Buyers increasingly send an auditor before the first order. These are the five areas that decide whether a supplier passes, and where most trading companies fail — because they cannot show the process, only the finished product.

1. Tooling ownership and injection capacity

An auditor asks who owns the mould and where it sits. We hold 18 injection machines in-house and the tooling for every standard housing, so a colour change or a logo plate does not require outsourcing and does not add weeks to the schedule. If your program needs a bespoke housing, the mould is built here and the maintenance record stays with the project.

2. Incoming material traceability

Every resin and every batch of filter media is logged on receipt against a supplier certificate, then tied to the production lot that consumed it. That chain is what allows us to answer "which units used this media batch" within an hour — the question that turns a recall into a contained correction.

3. Functional test records, not just claims

Housings are pressure tested at 80 psi and leak-checked before packing; cartridges are sampled per batch for chlorine reduction against the rated volume. Auditors ask to see the last 30 days of records rather than a single passing report, which is why the log is kept per lot and not summarised monthly.

4. Segregation and changeover control

Private label means several brands run on the same line. The audit risk is mixing packaging between customers, so changeover is a documented step with a line clearance sign-off before the next carton is opened. Ask any supplier how they record line clearance; a verbal answer is not a system.

5. Social and environmental compliance

Larger retail chains require a social compliance audit alongside the quality one. Our certifications page lists the schemes currently held; where a customer's own retailer demands a specific audit body, the audit is scheduled against the order rather than claimed in advance.

What we send before the audit

A pre-audit pack shortens the visit by a full day: factory layout, machinery list with tonnage, QC flow chart, current certificate copies and a sample of lot records. Request it through the downloads page and we will send the pack matched to your audit standard rather than the generic brochure.

Capacity in practical terms

Annual output of 1.2 million units sounds abstract until it is expressed as lead time. A 10,000-piece order for an existing SKU occupies roughly one week of a single line, which is why we can quote 25–35 days door to door including packaging print. Peak season — August to October, when Northern Hemisphere retailers build stock — is booked earlier, and the buyers who reserve capacity in June are the ones who ship on time in September. Assembly runs three shifts, so a schedule slip in moulding can usually be absorbed without moving the delivery date.
